Autumn's Story

Hello, I'm Autumn, and I'd like to welcome you to Happy Heart Ceremonies!

I'm originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, but have lived in gorgeous Washington State since 2009 and consider this my home.  I'm an avid camper, beach walker, sun worshipper, traveler, advocate of equality and a true romantic.  I call Whidbey Island my home with my significant other, Logan, and our two very silly cats.

I originally got started officiating weddings and vow renewals to surprise my parents.  In 2013, my brother and sister-in-law decided to get married on my parent's 40th Wedding anniversary.  I was extremely excited for my brother and his soon-to-be wife but also realized that my parents would not be able to celebrate their amazing milestone anniversary on the same day.  I decided to become ordained and one week after the wedding, I surprised my parents by renewing their vows in front of their closest family and friends.

They were certainly surprised....but so was I.  I couldn't shake the incredible feeling I had performing the ceremony and furthermore, I didn't want to.  Most of all, I felt like it was a divine meeting with one of my life’s purposes.

Six years, multiple weddings and vow renewals later, my passion hasn’t left, it’s grown even more.  I’m so grateful for the experiences I’ve had and the incredible couples I’ve met along the way. Overall, I love being an officiant because I know it's one of the best ways for me to positively affect other's lives.  I thrive on the happiness and energy of ceremonies and helping couples make their dreams come true!

Eric's Story

I got my start in officiating weddings when a close friend asked me, out of the blue, to officiate her ceremony. Two thoughts popped into my head, overwhelming humility to be asked to do such a thing and sheer terror at the weight of such a commission. Despite the initial fear I quickly said "Yes!" and the rest is history.

Spending time developing the ceremony with my friend and her husband to be was such an intimate experience working out how they wanted to celebrate their marriage. I realized that as much as I was there to be a guide they let their collective experiences define the words I was to say. The day of went perfect and before they knew it the stress of the big day was gone and they were married!

I would be honored to perform your wedding ceremony and help ensure your big day is seamless and memorable
